Nicole Kelm, DO

Dr. Nicole Kelm is a psychiatrist providing medication management for Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Bipolar disorder, Schizophrenia, and Personality Disorders. Dr. Kelm has a passion for the holistic wellbeing and the dignity of the human person. Personally, Dr. Kelm strives to emulate Saint Therese of Liseux, doing small things with great love. Professionally, Dr. Kelm seeks to represent in faith the physicians Saint Luke and Saint Gionna Molla.

Before attending college Dr. Kelm moved to Chania, Crete, Greece where she worked as a volunteer English teacher and obtained a TEFL certification. After returning to the US, Dr. Kelm obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Simpson College where she graduated as a member of Epsilon Sigma honor society. While engaged in undergraduate studies Dr. Kelm began working at MercyOne as an ER scribe. She attended Medical School at A.T. Still University in Kirksville, Missouri graduating as a member of Sigma Sigma Phi, a national honorary service fraternity for Medical Students.  During medical school Dr. Kelm continued to work as a group fitness instructor and train for a Half Marathon. She attended Psychiatry Residency at MercyOne in Des Moines, Iowa.

Dr. Kelm is the President of the Catholic Medical Association Des Moines Guild and a participant of three committees within the Catholic Medical Association. Dr. Kelm is an active member of the American Osteopathic Association, participating in the Resolutions Writing Committee and has authored her own resolution on the extension of parental leave during residency.

During her spare time, Dr. Kelm enjoys attending the Latin Mass, spending time with friends and family, cooking, baking, running, and skiing.
